About The Project

SolStay is a Costa del Sol holiday home and property management brand offering hand-picked villas, apartments, townhouses and rooms around Mijas and Fuengirola.

The business needed more than a visual redesign — guests needed to be able to actually search for an available stay and complete a booking online.

I redesigned the website in Wix and rebuilt the booking experience with custom Velo code, combining a CMS-driven property structure, live search and availability, responsive layouts and an end-to-end booking and payment journey.

Problem

The original website had a critical usability problem: its core property search did not work.

Fixing that issue properly meant rebuilding the experience around the full guest journey. The site also lacked a professional availability and booking flow, online payments, strong mobile responsiveness and a modern hospitality presentation — all while needing to follow the client’s reference design within a six-day delivery window.

Broken Property Search

The core hotel and villa search did not work, preventing guests from finding suitable available properties.

Incomplete Booking Journey

There was no professional availability calendar or end-to-end booking flow to move guests from search to reservation.

No Online Payment Flow

Guests could not securely complete a booking online because payment processing was not connected.

Solution

Selling a product that doesn't exist yet on shelves meant the website itself had to carry the entire weight of belief. Communicating AR concepts, AI integration, and 3D visualization without overwhelming visitors was a delicate balance. Rebuilt the search with Velo so guests can enter dates and group size, check live availability and find relevant homes.

CMS-Driven Property System

Created structured CMS collections powering dynamic property pages with photography, amenities, pricing and rental details.

Booking & Payment Flow

Connected availability, property selection, calendars, checkout and secure payment into one complete booking journey.

Implementation

The implementation combines Wix, custom Velo code, CMS collections, Wix Bookings API functionality and Wix Payments.

Each rental property is stored in the CMS and displayed through a consistent dynamic structure. The custom search evaluates stay dates, guest numbers and availability, while dynamic pricing adjusts to the booking details.

Once a guest selects a property, the experience continues through the property page, calendar, checkout, secure payment and automatic confirmation. Staff also have a booking-management view, while property owners have a separate rental-estimate enquiry path.

The Result

SolStay serves both holiday guests and property owners. Alongside the booking platform, a dedicated owner experience explains the property-management service and collects free rental-estimate requests.

The management offer covers areas such as listing and photography, pricing, guest communication, check-in and check-out, cleaning and maintenance.
